3. Second Coming Prelude • Four fold hallelujah • For the fall of Ecclesiastical Babylon (Rev. 19:1-2) • For the destruction of the city of Babylon (Rev. 19:3) • For the worshipful praise to God from those around the throne. (Rev. 19:4-5) • For the Marriage of the Lamb to the invisible church.

4. All the steps of the Jewish wedding ceremony are evident. • The Bridegroom takes the initiative to leave His Fathers house and travel to the home of the perspective Bride. (John 6:32-33;51) • The Bride is chosen (2 Thessalonians 2:13) • Bride price or dowry is established-blood of the Messiah. (Eph. 5:25-27, 1 Cor. 6:20, 1 Cor. 7:23) • The Marriage Covenant is established (Ephesians 5:25-27, 1 Corinthians1:2;25; 6:11; 11:25; Hebrews 10:10;13:12;20; Luke 22:20; Ephesians 1:13) • The Betrothal period. (John 14:1-3; John 6:62; 20:17)

5. The Gathering of the Bride. Rapture. (John 14:2-3; 1 Thess. 4:13-18) • The best man and male escorts would accompany the Bridegroom • Although the Jewish bride was expecting her groom to come for her, she did not know the exact time of his coming. • As a result of the bride not knowing the exact time the groom would come for her, the groom's arrival would be preceded by a shout. This shout would forewarn the bride to be prepared for the coming of the groom. • After the Jewish groom received his bride together with her female attendants, the enlarged wedding party would return from the bride's home to the groom's father's house.

6. Upon arrival there, the wedding party would find that the wedding guests had assembled already.   • In the same manner, Christ and the church (bride) will find the soul of Old Testament saints assembled in heaven when they arrive. These souls serve as the wedding guests. • The cleansing of the Bride. Judgment Seat of Messiah. That. Shortly after arrival, the bride (remaining veiled) and groom would be escorted by the other members of the wedding party to the bridal chamber (huppah) While the groomsmen and bridesmaids would wait outside, the bride and groom would enter the bridal chamber alone. There in the privacy of that place they would enter into physical union for the first time ~ consummating the marriage. was covenanted earlier.

7. Judgment Seat of Messiah. (1 Cor. 3:10-15, Luke 21:34-36, Romans 14:10-12, 2 Corinthians 5:10, Romans 8:1) • The basis of the judgment will be the believers works done in the body from the time he or she became a believer. • This is not a question of the believer’s sins, but a matter of reward on the basis of the believer’s deeds. • The judgment is based on how one has built on the foundation of the Messiah • The judgment will be based on the quality of the works and not the quantity. • The concern of this judgment is whether or not a believer followed what God’s will was for him or her.

8. Therefore, if a believer is doing the will of the Lord, obeys His commandments, and fulfills the ministry for which he received his spiritual gifts, then he is building on the foundation with gold, silver, and precious stones. • Where he or she falls short, he or she is building with wood, hay and stubble. • A believer’s sins are not brought out in this judgment; they do play an indirect role in this judgment. • During the period of time a believer is living in a state of unconfessed sin, he is building with wood, hay and stubble.

9. The means of testing will be by “fire.” Fire burns wood, hay and stubble but it refines and makes pure gold, silver, and precious stones. This means of testing shows it is a matter of quality and not quantity. Some believers will see their works burned up and others will see their works refined by the Messiah, Jesus. • The results of the judgment is that those who have had their works refined and not burned up will be rewarded • Believers will suffer loss of authority and rewards if they built with wood, hay and stubble.

10. After the marriage was consummated, the groom would announce the consummation to the other members of the wedding party waiting outside the chamber. These people would in turn pass this news on to the wedding guests. Upon hearing this good news, the wedding guests would begin the feast and make merry for the next 7 days. • This happens in Heaven and involves the Church. It happens after the judgment seat and before the Second Coming. (Rev. 19:6-8) • The bride is dressed in white linen, which are the righteous acts of the saints. She has been purified.

11. During those 7 days of the wedding festivities (sometimes called "the 7 days of huppah"), the bride remained hidden in the bridal chamber.   • At the conclusion of the 7 days, the groom would bring his bride out of the bridal chamber, now with her veil removed, so that all could see who his bride was. (Colossians 3:4, Jude 14, Revelation 19) • The Wedding Feast--The invitations are sent out just prior to the Second Coming. They go out to all the redeemed who are not members of the Church, i.e. the Old Testament Saints and the Tribulation saints soon to be resurrected.

12. The Marriage Feast will take place after the Second Coming, and with the feast, the Messianic Kingdom will begin. This is why some of the Messiah’s kingdom parables were referenced to the marriage feast (Matt. 22:1-14, 25:1-13) The marriage feast will include not just the Church saints but the Old Testament and Tribulation Saints.
