Blessedness of being prepared for. • Matthew 24:46 Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the master has put in charge of the servants in his household to give them their food at the proper time? 46It will be good for that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns. • Luke 12:37-38 It will be good for those servants whose master finds them watching when he comes. I tell you the truth, he will dress himself to serve, will have them recline at the table and will come and wait on them. It will be good for those servants whose master finds them ready, even if he comes in the second or third watch of the night. HOW TO PREPARE FOR HIS COMING

  3. Job 19:25-26 I know that my Redeemer lives,        and that in the end he will stand upon the earth. And after my skin has been destroyed,        yet in my flesh I will see God… BELIEVERS SHOULD BE ASSURED OF HIS COMING

  4. 2 Timothy 4:8 • Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. BELIEVERS SHOULD LOVE HIS APPEARING.

  5. Philippians 3:20 But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ… Titus 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ… BELIEVERS SHOULD LOOK FOR HIS COMING

  6. BELIEVERS SHOULD WORK TOWARD HIS COMING • 2 Peter 3:12 as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat…

  7. Revelation 22:20 He who testifies to these things says, "Yes, I am coming soon.“  Amen. Come, Lord Jesus. BELIEVERS SHOULD PRAY FOR HIS COMING

  8. Matthew 24:44 So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him. Luke 12:40 Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not. BELIEVERS SHOULD BE READY FOR HIS COMING

  9. Matthew 24:42 Watch therefore: for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming. Mark 13:35-37 Watch therefore: for you don’t know when the master of the house returns; in the evening, or at midnight, or at the early dawn, or in the morning: But should he come suddenly and find you sleeping. And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch. Luke 21:36 Watch therefore, and pray always, that you may be found worthy to escape all these things that are coming to pass, so that you can stand before the Son of man. BELIEVERS SHOULD WATCH FOR HIS COMING

  10. 1 Corinthians 1:7 Therefore you do not lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed… 1 Thessalonians 1:10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, who delivered us from the wrath to come. Waiting for God is not laziness. Waiting for God is not going to sleep. Waiting for God is not the abandonment of effort. Waiting for God means, first, activity under command; second, readiness for any new command that may come; third, the ability to do nothing until the command is given. - G. Behold, the farmer waits patiently for the harvest, and waits patiently for it, until he receives the spring fall rain. Likewise patient; strengthen your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draws near. BELIEVERS SHOULD PATIENTLY WAIT FOR HIS COMING
