  1. Dear all, • thanks for the participation to this Tutorial that is intended to encourage American participation in CUORE analysis. This is just an introduction for the meeting and • a short presentation of the software tasks more strictly connected to Physics. • Maura • The Physics and Data Analysis Working Group aims at: • provide the Cuore Collaboration with all the software tools necessary for the on-line and off-line data processing, for detector modeling and for simulations • define code requirements • define prescriptions for tests procedures • guarantee the production of a suitable code documentation • define code validation procedure for codes official approval • suggest analysis protocols and supervise analysis results Physics and Data Analysis Working Group – January 2007

  2. the core software environment proposed for Data Analysis implementations is the subject of the present Tutorial and will be discussed by Marco Pallavicini and Marco Vignati. general software requirements and guidelines for high levelsoftware development are drawn in DA Document N.3 on the WEB. And will be further detailed in the future MonteCarlo simulations are then discussed by Silvia C. and Marco V. Here the situation is slightly different because the software development is at an advanced stage. As simulations are the fundamental tools necessary for the design of the experiment ... Here I discuss the “Physics Working Packages” that are the basic bricks with which building the CUORE Data Analysis System. Physics and Data Analysis Working Group – January 2007

  3. WORKING PACKAGES Physics and Data Analysis Working Group – January 2007

  4. WORKING PACKAGES PRELIMINARY LIST Physics and Data Analysis Working Group – January 2007

  5. WORKING PACKAGES PRELIMINARY LIST Physics and Data Analysis Working Group – January 2007

  6. PRIORITIES we need to have a responsible for each WP, that means somebody working for each of them this do not prevent more than one group decide to work on the same WP trying different implementations (and in some case this is certainly desirable, think e.g. to the Pulse Processing techniques) but there will be priorities to be respected and duties and tasks to be fulfilled in code development for example: completion of WP n.7+8 is intended to give support to Cuoricino routine analysis completion of WP n.2-4+9+10+12 will lead to reproduction of the Cuoricino analysis tools Physics and Data Analysis Working Group – January 2007

  7. PRIORITIES also in the validation and approval of the codes (for which we will define protocols and benchmarks) we will fix priorities (the test phase of codes will require a large fraction of human resources) DOCUMENTATION - TEST AND APPROVAL documentations an test procedures as well as the protocol for code validation will be fixed in the next future UPON THE ASSIGNMENT OF A WP RESPONSABILITY REQUIREMENTS, MILESTONES AND PRIORITIES WILL BE DEFINED Physics and Data Analysis Working Group – January 2007

  8. Requests for WP assignment should be addressed before the end of this week the same for contributions to core software environment development On the DA meeting of January 31 we will discuss assignments, priorities, manpower ... etc. That's All have a pleasant meeting Maura Physics and Data Analysis Working Group – January 2007
