New Charter for the Historical Data Working Group: Preservation and Outreach Initiatives

The Historical Data Working Group, chaired by Colleen Cahill, has introduced a new charter as of December 2009 to enhance collaboration in preservation, education, and outreach efforts. The group comprises three subgroups focusing on key areas, including the recent co-sponsored webinar with NOAA Data Centers on the archival management of geospatial and scientific data. Upcoming initiatives will include presentations to both the Cartographic Users Advisory Group and the European Historians and Social Scientists Annual Conference in April, aimed at expanding community engagement and membership.
