  3. Physical Change- • 1) Only physical properties change. Chemical properties do not change.

  4. 2) Physical changes are generally easy to reverse. • 3) No energy is produced by the substance.

  5. Chemical Change- • 1) Both physical and chemical properties are changed.

  6. 2) Changes are not reversible without another reaction. • 3) Energy is often produced ( fire or heat, for example).

  7. Most chemical changes will have one or more of the following: • Heat • Burning • Color without you adding it • Odor • Gas given off

  8. Law of Conservation of Mass • Matter may change form, it can not be created or destroyed
