Introduction • This bid is based on the St Louis and Bratislava meeting requirements • We aim to hold it in the historical port city of Fremantle in Perth, WA • Has a great range of accommodation, transport and dining options • These are all within a 10-minute walk of the main meeting venues • October is warm, dry and in the middle of the spring flowering time • A number of potential side tours to the hills, islands or wine regions • Principal hosts:

  5. Plenary sessions • Will be held in the NWS Shipping Theatre, a 200-seat dedicated lecture theatre. The theatre is fully equipped with state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment (data projection, DVD and video) and theatrical lighting. Plenary sessions

  6. Lunches and breaks • Lunches and morning and afternoon teas will use the Museums’ Function Centre and balcony, facilities that are frequently used for corporate functions and events. Both areas overlook Victoria Quay and the Swan River. Lunch & tea

  8. Break-out rooms 5 minutes walk from the Maritime Museum in: • Notre Dame University • or TAFE Colleges

  9. Reception The conference reception to be held in the Esplanade Hotel, a 4.5-star hotel in the centre of Fremantle – 10 minutes walk from the Maritime Museum

  10. Banquet In Kings Park Botanic Gardens overlooking Perth city – transport will need to be arranged to and from the Fremantle venue

  11. Facilities • Internet access 3G wireless network operates throughout Perth. Plan is now to purchase 4 or 5 Ericsson w25 wireless hubs, wireless at both ends, currently at 3.6 mbps but upgradeable to 7.2 mbps or more • Power for laptops Power strips and extension cables will be available in the auditorium and each break-out room. All cables will be taped to prevent a trip hazard • Projection facilities The main plenary venue has integrated digital LCD projector run from the main podium. Portable LCD projectors will be used in the breakout rooms • Sound The auditorium has a fully integrated sound system from the podium and roving microphone • Poster area A separate room for the display of up to fifty posters during nominated days of the conference
