Enhancing Exam Integrity Through Technology: NCTA Conference Insights
At the NCTA Conference 2010, we explored the vital role technology plays in upholding academic integrity. Emphasizing accessibility and user-friendly solutions, we discussed the importance of minimizing the "creepy factor" in monitoring tools. Our commitment to five core values—honesty, trust, fairness, respect, and responsibility—underscores the need for integrity in assessments. Effective strategies include webcam monitoring, computer supervision, and student identity authentication. A Northampton Community College survey revealed that 75% of students were very satisfied with their ProctorU experience, illustrating the positive impact of thoughtful technology use in exams.
