  6. Ways to be a team player: • Be willing to contribute • Avoid competing with other team members • Work to resolve conflict • Use good communication skills • Do your fair share • Support team decisions • Respect differences • Focus on team goals • Pitch in and help others

  7. Principles to make teamwork successful: • Dividing tasks • Making group decisions • Avoiding groupthink • Taking on roles

  8. Leadership means providing the direction & motivation that helps the group achieve their goals leadership skills: • Communicating clearly • Motivating others • Managing • Delegating • Making decisions • Solving problems

  9. A role model is a person who sets an example for others Ethical leadership is based on moral principles Good leaders delegate, or assign tasks to other members A leadership style describes a leader’s pattern of behavior when directing the team

The four leadership styles are • Authoritarian—tend to tell others how things will be done • Democratic—will consider the opinions for all and make a decision that is best for the group • Integrated—very focused on group harmony and cooperation • Laissez-faire—will provide few restrictions and let the group work with lots of freedom
