Guidelines for Discussion • Read the story carefully before participating in the discussion. • Discuss only the story everyone has read. • Support your ideas with evidence from the story. • Listen to other students’ ideas and respond to them respectfully. • Expect the teacherto ONLY ask questions. • Remember, your answer is right as long as you support it from the story.

Rules • Only 1 person may talk at a time. • Be respectful to others’ ideas. • Listen when someone is talking. • Raise your hand if you want to share something. • Tell us what page you are using so that we can all turn to that page. • Keep your hands and eyes where they need to be. • Participate.
