The organization of the Radio Maria Project: from the Association to the Radio Radio Maria Association • The civil juridical entity that represents the Radio Maria Project in a specific country. • Therefore, each member , with its presence and commitment, is the person at the service of the Radio Maria Project in its country.

The organization of the Radio Maria Project: from the Association to the Radio The members are volunteers called to serve and represent the Radio Maria Project in their country General Meeting : • The general meeting of members is the place of periodical review (usually annual) of the progress of the activity and of the mission of the Radio Maria Association • A minimum number of 5 members - plus the rightful personnel of WF - (to start the activity) up to a maximum number of 15 (at full capacity) is recommended

The organization of the Radio Maria Project: from the Association to the Radio • The President is the Association’s legal representative. • He arranges for all members to be totally involved in participating in the Association’s activities and in the volunteer work of Radio Maria. • The Director of Radio Maria is a member of the Association and rightful member of the Directive Council (for the entire term of his canonical mission obtained with the permission of his Ordinary Superior). • He makes sure that all members are fully involved in the mission of the Radio Maria Project and that they are ecclesiastically united.

  5. The organization of the Radio Maria Project: from the Association to the Radio Member’s profile: listeners and volunteers who have had a significant experiencevolunteering in the operational management services areas and/or in the editorial part

The organization of the Radio Maria Project: from the Association to the Radio Path: It is suggested to set up a simple training path at the radio station for volunteers who would like to find out more about: the history, the Project and the values that inspire Radio Maria and its mission and, at the same time, would like to increase the competences of their service. A formal certificate will be issued at the end of this training path. The basic instruments will be prepared and made available to each Association in order to organize this path for the volunteers .

The organization of the Radio Maria Project: from the Association to the Radio N.B. • Due to the limited number of members, only some volunteers may be called by the Council to join the Association to replace those members who can no longer actively follow the Association’s activities and the volunteer work of Radio Maria.

The organization of the Radio Maria Project: from the Association to the Radio The members of the Board of Directors (trustees): • They usually range from a minimum of 3 to a maximum of 5. • These members are elected because they have enough time available and special skills in reviewing the overall and/or particular management of sectors of the activity. • They offer a dedicated, timely and austere service for a limited period. In the spirit of service, they are called to cooperate as requested and delegated by the Board . They are an example of sobriety.

The organization of the Radio Maria Project: from the Association to the Radio The Board : • Elects offices within its own structure (if not already elected by the Meeting according to the By-laws) • Sets the guidelines of the activities • Periodically reviews the activities • Selects employees and the Director, submitting the selection to the consent of the World Family and of the Ordinary Superior • Verifies and approves applications for membership in the Association • Periodically confirms the operational strategies adopted by the Excom • It is chaired by the President

The organization of the Radio Maria Project: from the Association to the Radio EXCOM • The executive committee that carries out the ordinary management of Radio Maria, and which consists of: • permanent members and invitees, as needed. • Permanent members President and Director • Invitees all the other figures needed to discuss the various services

The organization of the Radio Maria Project: from the Association to the Radio EXCOM Functioning • The minutes of the meetings must be drawn up, with the summarized points of the decisions; copies of such minutes are in any event sent to the Directive Council to keep it informed. • the decisions of Excom are taken with the consensus between President and Director

The organization of the Radio Maria Project: from the Association to the Radio • The overall internal organization includes regulations, organization chart and Code of Ethics • Regulations document template suggested by WF (enclosed) • Organization chart template: it is provided by World Family and updated according to the specific continental needs

The organization of the Radio Maria Project: from the Association to the Radio • Personnel selection: criteria that must meet a typical profile (provided, generally speaking, by the World Family) and that must take into consideration the positions shown in the organization chart template. • Any extraordinary services must be envisaged according to particular needs. • Each profile must be accompanied by job descriptions, objectives, which must be agreed upon and reviewed periodically.

The organization of the Radio Maria Project: from the Association to the Radio Profiles shown in the organization chart: • President • Director • Vice-President • Coordinator • Chief Editorial Services • Promoter • RF Network Manager • Technical Operators • Audio Frequency technician • Administrative Services officer • Fundraising and Campaigns Manager The Code of Ethics should be mentioned, for cooperation and behavioural rules between personnel, members and volunteers.
