  2. BIBFRAME Editor Pilot • Undertaken by the Acquisitions and Bibliographic Access Directorate • Materials in English, a Western European language, and a language in a non-roman script • May include a non-print format • Timeline • Planning completed in FY2014 • Pilot completed by end of FY2015

  3. RDA Toolkit • February release • Fast-track changes to RDA text • 28 new, deleted, or revised LC-PCC Policy Statements • April release • Annual update to RDA by the JSC • Fast-track changes to RDA text • 62 new, deleted, or revised PSs • August release: only RDA updates for translations (no changes to the English text) • October release: RDA and PS updates

  5. Descriptive Cataloging Using RDA • Nine-module curriculum • Developed by Tim Carlton (Library of Congress) and Dr. Ingrid Hsieh-Yee (Catholic University) • For LIS students and new catalogers • Will be made available on the Cataloger’s Learning Workshop web page (www.loc.gov/catworkshop)

  6. Cabo Verde • Cape Verde was revised to Cabo Verde • Due to December 2013 BGN decision • Associated name headings were adjusted in May • Forty proposals to revise subject authorities appear on July’s Tentative List

  7. South Australia • Abbreviation revised to S.A. from S. Aust. • Name authorities were adjusted in early 2014 • Sixty proposals to revise subject authorities appeared on April’s Tentative List

  8. Malaysia • No longer listed as a country whose states are not qualified by country (16.2.2.9) • Both the state and country name will appear in all geographic qualifiers • RDA 16.2.2.12 Alternative • Projects to adjust the name authority file and LCSH are ongoing • LC is being assisted by the University of California, San Diego • Catalogers should continue to use the existing headings as established until they are revised

  9. Printed Documentation • Sale of printed documentation to cease July 1st • All remaining publications are half price • Exception: LCSH, 35th ed. (2013)

Mediums of Performance • Library of Congress Medium of Performance Thesaurus for Music (LCMPT) was released and implemented by LC in February • MARC 21 authority records may be downloaded from http://classificationweb.net/LCMPT/ • Records in a variety of formats may be downloaded from the LC Linked Data Service, http://id.loc.gov • All SACO proposals must be submitted through the SACO Music Funnel

Demographic Group Terms • PSD is compiling LCSH classes of persons and ethnic group headings • Next steps • Determining which terms are likely to be needed as creator/contributor or audience characteristics • Assigning terms to hierarchies • On schedule for approval in late 2014 or early 2015
