  2. What is Go4BioDiv? The International Youth Forum that offers young dedicated people from all over the world the opportunity to share their on-the-ground conservation experience with their peers and the wider public. It enables them to participate in political discussions by engaging with international leaders during the Conferences of the Parties of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD-COPs) International Youth Forum Go4BioDiv

Go4BioDiv Elements for 2012 • Go4BioDiv is conceptualized and implemented to make impact at three levels • Individual (35 messenger) • Immediate: Outreach by the Messengers • Long term and Far reaching: Influencing the COP agenda • Theme for 2012 ‘Conserving coastal and marine biodiversity for sustaining life and livelihoods • Emphasizes the importance of public outreach and communication, using new media and ICT • Go4BioDiv programme: • Preparation Phase in home country, including E-Coaching and virtual camp ongoing • Live camp in the host country- SundarbansWHS (October 6-15) • Participation in the CBD COP in Hyderabad (October 16-19) • Follow-up International Youth Forum Go4BioDiv

Main Outputs: Sundarbans/Hyderabad Agenda in Sundarbans: Preparation towards the presentations and event to be performed by Go4Biodiv in Hyderabad Agenda in Hyderabad: • Declaration on marine and coastal biodiversity and livelihoods  presentation in the High-Level-Segment of the COP and the Mayor’s Conference (City Summit) • various side-events inside the conference centre on different aspects of Go4BioDiv theme (i.e. ecological dimension, role of local communities, governance) • Creative elements • an exhibition about Go4BioDiv Messengers and their background, incorporating art elements (Go4BioDiv Ark, giant ‘Trash Fish’) • theatre performances • Follow-up publication within series ‚Sustainability has many Faces • Network building International Youth Forum Go4BioDiv
