  1. How To Get Alloy Wheels Fixed? Alloy wheels are an excellent way to improve the look and performance of a vehicle. However, it is disappointing if they get damaged due to bent, scuffs or oxidation. Luckily most damages to alloy wheels can be easily fixed. Let us get to know how. How to Remove Oxidation Alloy wheels are manufactured from aluminum, and the material usually does not rust. However, due to the accumulation of dirt, debris and dust oxidation occur. Oxidation is discoloration process that is caused when certain chemicals interact with oxygen. Oxidation cannot be entirely avoided, but with a little elbow grease, alloy wheels can be made shiny and new looking.

  2. To remove the oxidation, you will need to make and acid-based cleaner to combat oxygen. For this, it is advisable to take the rims off the car (if possible). Remove the valve stems and use paint remover to remove the clear coating. Make acid based cleaner by combining water, vinegar, lemon juice and cream of tartar. Stir and let it boil once on the stove. Apply it on the wheels (when it gets cooled). Dry with a soft cloth. How to Fix Dented Aluminum Wheels Potholes may damage alloy wheels and cause dents and bends. If you can remove wheels from the car, and use a blowtorch, you can easily fix aluminum wheels of your car. However, if there

  3. are deep cracks near bending, it is wise to take professional help for aluminum wheel straightening. To repair the bent yourself, take the tire off the car and remove the wheels. Do wear protective gloves and eyewear as you will be working in extreme heat. Turn the blow torch and set it to the highest level so that it emits a blue flame. Keep the flame six inches away and heat the dented area for around three minutes. Place a wooden board supporting the back of the damaged area and hammer the rim pushing it back to its previous shape. The process should be quickly done while the rim is hot. If the rim cools before rim is straightened, repeat the heating process, and hammer it again to remove the bend completely. Some oxidation may occur due to heat and in such case follow the process mentioned above to remove oxidation.
