  1. Algorithm Growth Risk R&O Splinter June 8, 2011

  2. Background • IDPS-14 Algorithm Growth risk was reviewed at 27 May CGS ROMB • Recommendation was to brief R&O Splinter on algorithm size and delivery schedule currently incorporated into JPSS baseline • ROMB was concerned that the customer was not aware of the specifics of the planned algorithm work • ROMB recommendation is the risk of algorithm growth should be transferred to NASA to manage

  3. Algorithm Baseline • Algorithm drops • Drop sizes as listed in the JPSS proposal • Schedule as planned during DRW 11 • Note that 5,000 DSLOC is in process of being repurposed for Cal/Val support as briefed in IDPS Splinter to DPA/DPE Re-purpose FY11-12 drops to Cal/Val algorithm support in FY12-13

  4. Summary • Raytheon has incorporated specific algorithm sizes and delivery dates into their baseline plan • Raytheon has opened a risk in the case that algorithm deliveries from NASA are larger than planned • Raytheon recommends that the risk should be transferred to NASA to manage
