Early beginning • Technology foresight in the Nordic Countries, report Risö 2002. • Interview with key policy makers in: • Ministry of Industry and Trade • Icelandic Research Council • Icelandic Technology Industry • The New Business Venture fond • University of Iceland • Federation of Icelandic Industries by Birte Holst Jörgensen

Main results of the 2002 survey • Situation as of the survey • Short term plans, innovatin regional development etc • Short term strategies for R&D • Pragmatic prioritations • In academia – spin offs • Direct project idea in field of Hydrogen energy • Vision seminars and forums of technology Processes are generally transparent but rearly follow known TF models

  4. TF in field of Hydrogen society NICe (NI) initiative in field of Hydrogen society financed by NICe. Project management at Risö. Icelandic participation by University of Iceland, department of science. (Thorsteinn I Sigfússon)

Since then • Technology foresight is not embedded in desicion making... yet, .. but.. • The term is quite well known • Working methods are being observed • Need in various plans are being identified • Rannis takes part along with experienced partners in a NICe, call for proposal, leading to a Forum and a project • Biotechnology from the sixties until today • TF activites in the ministry of Education and Science

Awarness raising of TF • EU Commission represented at the event of Innovation price, theme TF (Christer Swanfelt) • RANNIS and RU with joing workshop on TF (Arnold Verbeek) • Ministry of Education and Science, identified TF in relation to key technologies (Eirikur Baldursson) • Proposed joint projet in field of TF in 2006, project idea under construction (Rannis).
