  4. Small Learning Communities • To Join a program Select program on Google Form and we will forward your information to coordinator for interview. Students must be able to meet the requirements of program to be considered. • To Leave a program Pick up change of program form from your counselor. Forms due by February 28th for consideration. Must be completed with all signatures to be considered.

  5. Graduation Requirements • Pass CAHSEE Exam • Complete 220 credits in required areas – pass with D or higher grades • English - 4 years • Social Studies – 3 years • Science – 2 years • Math – 2 years (Algebra and Geometry) • PE – 2 years • Fine Arts/Foreign Language - 1 year • Electives – 8 year long courses (80 credits)

  6. College Requirements • A-G Requirements-UC/CSU Colleges • 15 courses in mandated subjects • Grades must be C or higher • Grades weighted in AP classes when passed with C or higher Example - AP World History – grade of B Colleges will count that as 4 points on their scale. Give extra point for rigorous course

  7. A-G Requirements • Social Science – 2 years (3rd year can be elective) • English 4 years – ELD 3 or higher • Math 3 years – 4 recommended Must be Algebra 2 or higher • Science – 2 years lab science – 3/4 recommended Must be Chemistry or Higher

  8. A-G Requirements • Foreign Language – 2 years required – 3 recommended. Must be same language • Visual/Performing Arts - 1 year – same subject • Elective - 1 year of an advanced elective Examples – Piano 2, Drawing and Painting, Advanced Art, Photo 2, Band 2-4, 3rd Year of Foreign Language, Physiology, Physics, AP Biology, AP Psychology, AP Physics

  15. Central County Occupational Center • Earn up to 30 high school and college credits* • Tuition free to high school students – must purchase uniforms or supplies if required* • Must have passed CAHSEE Exam and have at least 100 credits to enroll • Commit to stay in program for one semester

Schedule - Afternoon Central County Occupational Center Schedule - Morning Board bus at home school - 6:50 a.m. Classes at CCOC - 7:30 – 10:30 Return to home school – 11:00 a.m. Take 5-6-7 periods at WCO Board bus at home school – 11:45 a.m. Classes at CCOC – 12:30 – 3:30 Return to home school – 4:00 p.m. Take 1-2-3 or 2-3-4 periods at WCO

Process to Add CCOC • Fill in CCOC on Elective line of Google form • Come to counseling office to get request card • Fill out card and return to counselor by March 1st • Counselors will then request your desired program at CCOC meeting (draft) • Students will be notified in May if they have been selected to program for next year

Credit Recovery Options • Cyber High – Limited classes – most college prep • Adult Ed - Seniors only – must be within reach of graduation. • Community Colleges - will take Juniors during the summer. See counselor for forms. • Summer School at WCO - To be determined • Alternative Programs - (Apollo) Students must complete application and meet requirements of program. See Ms. Garcia in Attendance Office.
