  2. To Do List before Group Advising • Update ISET Checklist according to unofficial transcript • Update your four-year plan • Complete a GPA prediction worksheet • Check on your URSA account for registration date

  3. GPA is Very Important! • 2.75 cumulative GPA prerequisite: • EDEL 350 • PSY 347 • TESL 370 • ART 444

  4. Grade Forgiveness (GF): Best way to raise your GPA • May be applied toward 4 courses (up to 12 credits) • Application available at www.unco.edu/registrar • FORMS • Read information box on GF Application

  5. Where are your classes located? • Carefullycheck the location of your classes • To ensure your classes are at UNC… • Select Main Campus on URSA as Campus choice • DO NOT registerfor any class with: LOWR, LOV or COSP location • DIST = Extended Studies • {additional tuition cost}

  6. Course Information • Please click on the CRN number for important course requirements for: • FILM 120, CH303 • GEOG 390 (geography concentration) will not be offered until spring 2012 *PTEP program requires a ‘B’ or better in ENG 122 OR ENG 123

  7. Math Concentration Changes • Take MATH 395 fall • Take MATH 391 spring • *Change from previously fall only

  8. Waiting List • If EDRD 314, 319; EDEL 320, 350; or EDF 370 are closed • Put your name on the waiting list • The waiting list is located on the PTEP website www.unco.edu/teach • PTEP will notify you via Bear mail if a new section opens

  9. ESL Information • ESL concentration requires • 2 years of H.S. foreign language or • 1 full year of college level foreign language • To document language background please contact vicky.stromberger@unco.edu

  10. TESL 398/380 • ESL and Language Arts concentrations • Three options: ENG 318, ENG 419, or TESL 380 • Summer 2011 TESL 380 will be called TESL 398 • Fall 2011 the course will be TESL 380

  11. You can take courses at the community college • See the Community College Guaranteed Transfer Agreement form • Also - found on ISET website • www.unco.edu/ISET/forms • Grade of ‘C’ or higher transfers • Transfer credits do not affect UNC GPA • Transcripts should be sent to Admissions

Teacher Employment Days • Teacher Employment Days (TED) April 7 & 8 • More than 100 school districts from approximately14 states will be represented • First-hand opportunity to observe the process of teacher candidate interviews • Volunteers are needed in numerous areas: • Greeting • Refreshments • Directions/information * Details will be sent via the Listserv

  13. Registration • Registration for Summer 2011 begins April 4 • No PIN# required • Fall Registration: check your URSA account

  14. Sign-up for your Group Advising Session • Everyone must sign-up for a Group Advising session: • Call the ISET Office: 351-2929 • OR • Stop by the ISET Office : McKee 227

  15. Final Notes • You can make an individual appointment after you have attended Group Advising if you have more questions or need to discuss issues privately • No PIN numbers are given in individual appointments
