  2. General information about YCAC • Founded in 1999 • Founders: • Open Society Fund – Lithuania • Vytautas Magnus University

Aims and objectives • YCAC aims to meet public needs through educational, scientific, cultural, social and legal initiatives and to carry out activities to realize the following objectives: • Develop educational, social and cultural initiatives; • Create and improve the system of career guidance services; • Stimulate actions of academic community; • Initiate strategic projects for change in educational system and integration into EU environment; • Provide information about study opportunities in Lithuania and abroad; • Provide guidance on career decision making process and personal realisation; • Provide educational programmes for youth and adults.

  5. Typologies of publics • Students (Middle and high school, college, university students); • Adults (Educators, parents, psychologists, social workers, school managers, young employees, etc.); • Employers; • People with special needs.

Main activities • Information and counseling to enable people to become responsible for their lives and make important decisions; • Non-formal education programmesfor youngsters to acquire skills and attitudes for successful self-expression (career planning, communication, conflict management, team building, leadership skills development, project management, active civic participation); • Optional courses on life skills development for university students; • In-service training courses for educators and schools community members on approaches and methods for successful development of life skills; • Programmes and projects for introducing new approaches and methods for successful development of life skills.
