Vocabulary List 3- Foster’s War Allies- the name given to countries allied against the Axis powers in WWII, including the U.S., Britain, France, the Soviet Union, and China Axis- the name given to countries that fought the Allies in WWII, including Germany, Italy, and Japan Arsenal- a stock of weapons Civilians- a person not serving in the armed forces Dictator- a leader with complete authority over forces Home-front- the U.S. during the war Militarism- a belief in a strong military in which power is gained by war Nationalism- extreme loyalty to one’s own country or culture based on a belief in their superiority Relocation Camp- prison camps in which Japanese Americans were held Invasion- the act of invading, especially the entry of an armed force in order to conquer another country.
