  11. INIS website www.inis.uz in Uzbek language is very important for Young generation in Uzbekistan

  12. Scientific-Technical Library of INP Scientific-Technical Library (STL) of INP is one of the largest libraries among scientific libraries network of AS RU, having fund over 221215 units of scientific-technical literatures, which has functioned since 1957. Periodical publications-78528, from this 39500 is foreign. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peculiarity of the library consists in that, it is only one centre in the region, which collects IAEA publications, Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (Russia) publications and preprints, preprints of largest International nuclear centers - CERN (Switzerland), International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP, Italy) and others. INP Scientific-technical Library joined the INLN of IAEA in 2005

  13. Activities on automation of Scientific-Technical Library of INP Three INP staff participated in LIBCOM 2007 conference; Librarian and young IT specialist trained on IRBIS64 system in Russian National Public Library for Science and Technology (GPNTB), Moscow. Along with librarians visitors are also mastering informational technologies actively. Observation and training on IRBIS64 by librarian and reader

  14. Cooperation with INLN through a www.inp.uz Web Site • Administrator of IRBIS system also developed the INP S-T Library web-page. from which electronic catalogues (ECs) shown. • IRBIS64 System worked on intranet and very soon will work in global network. 17. Internet revolutionized access to the information. World Wide Web became the vast source of diverse knowledge. Every year number of users and sites is growing. Taking into account the convenience and the opportunities of internet in our library is started building the collections of Digital Library . For this task is used GreenStone application designed by the New Zealand Digital Library Project at the University of Waikito, and developed and distributed in cooperation with UNESCO and the Human InfoNGO. It is open-source, multilingual software, issued under the terms of the GNU General Public License. For more information refer to www.greenstone.org. Advantages of GeenStone Open and Freely distributed Multiplatform Has graphical user interface Easy to use Still actively developed Digital Library on INP Server

  21. National seminar “I N I S, its products and services” 25 March 2009, Tashkent Over 40 participants attended the Seminar from 20 institutions covering different fields of activities: medical, mining, agriculture, geology, and fundamental sciences. Ms.Atieh presented INIS, its benefits and demonstrated the features of the INIS Online Database. Participants were encouraged to make use of the vast, readily accessible pool of nuclear information offered by INIS. Tashkent Institute of Post-Graduate Medical Education, MH RU was hosted National INIS seminar in cooperation with Institute of Nuclear Physics AS RU. Prof. U. Salikhbaev (Director of INP AS RU), Prof. D. Zaredinov (Chief Radiologist of Uzbekistan) and Ms. Taghrid Atieh from IAEA, INIS Section were opened Seminar.

  22. Uzbekistan INIS Center popularization activities • With the purpose to promote INIS products, Uzbekistan INIS centre main product and services and show innovations in INP Library operation, three oral presentations were represented on 7th International conferences «Modern problems of nuclear physics» on September, 23-25 2009. • And other four oral presentations were represented on Annual National Information Communication Technologies, ICT Summit – 2009, September 22, 2009 and ICT Summit – 2010, September 21, 2010 . • Visit State Medical Science Library, National University of Uzbekistan Library and Republic Information Library Centre with Digital Library • Cooperation with Republic Information and Library Centers in preservation of our and their information resources.

  23. Study on INIS user needs conducted in Uzbekistan during last two years (2008-2009) by intranet among 160 scientific-technical staff of INP AS RU, by discussions with representatives and users from some nuclear organizations on the meetings and by e-mail or phone communication and also in the training process of bachelors, undergraduate magistracy students, master’s degree and postgraduate students, who have practice or make degree in our Institute on “How to use INIS DB in their work?”. Study on INIS User Needs in Uzbekistan

  24. Study on INIS User Needs in Uzbekistan During our work with young generation and some scientific-technical staff of INP AS RU, we have finding that many of youth do not know not only English language, but also Russian. So many users are requested to develop: a). a number of special instructions (manuals): “How to use WinSpirs and WebSpirs software for retrieval data from INIS DB on CD-ROM by local network?”, “How to use Internet access for retrieval data from INIS DB on-line?”, “How to make effective searching on interested fields?”; b). advertising brochures about INIS and INIS centre of Uzbekistan; c). Thesaurus in the Uzbek language would be rather useful too. • Therefore instructions and advertising need to be published in Russian and Uzbek languages.

  25. Suggestions Furthermore it will be very helpful for staff of National INIS Centers from CIS countries if such document as INIS Reference Series, WinFIBRE User’s Manual and some other INIS documentation, from which take advantage both of INIS staff and INIS users, will be published in Russian. This will give for ILO’s and Alternate ILO’s an opportunity to involve more and more persons from young generation to work voluntary in INIS. It will be easier work with new staff and explain them what to do? and how to do? to be have INIS manuals in Russian. It will be more effective to train new INIS staff and it will be easier for new staff work with INIS users and train them. May be, if possible, awarding any Coordinated Research Project or Research Contract or may be establish Regional TC proposal among CIS countries due to translation and creation many of main INIS documentation in Russian will be very helpful and useful for all National INIS Centers from CIS countries. Joint work on implementation of such project will unite and cooperated us around our tasks, improve professional skill of participants, enhance capacity of participated INIS Centers and raise level of work with users.
