  3. OurBiblical Mandate Why Women’s Ministry?

  4. Why Women’s Ministry? We are a chosen people with a job to do Exodus 19:3-6 Then Moses went up to God, and the LORD called to him from the mountain and said, "This is what you are to say to the house of Jacob and what you are to tell the people of Israel: `You yourselves have seen what I did to Egypt, and how I carried you on eagles' wings and brought you to myself. Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession. Although the whole earth is mine, you will be for me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.' These are the words you are to speak to the Israelites."

  5. Why Women’s Ministry? We are a chosen people with a job to do 1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Revelation 1:5b-6 To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, and has made us to be a kingdom and prieststo serve his God and Father--to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen.

  9. We are to glorify God • Individually • Corporately

  10. We are Co-Workers with God! 1 Corinthians 3:9 For we are God's fellow workers

  11. Discussion Question How would you describe a successful ministry?

  12. Successful Ministry • Faithful to God’s commands/priorities • Honors God’s Word • Focuses on prayer • Dependence upon God • Listening to His direction • Ministry is initiated by the Father • Not by us • One that can say “yes” to the Lord and “no” to people

  21. Without a Mission/Purpose Statement… • You’ll risk being carriedalong with rapid, unexpected changes • It will be difficult to attractinterest in your overall program • You’ll risk losingleadership • You can’t planahead effectively Adapted from Growing a Healthy Church
