  7. Race overview

  8. Corner 1Miller School Rd/Dick Woods Rd Police stops cars southbound on Miller School Rd. No cars should proceed south on Miller School Rd after race group passes the finish line. Course Marshal keeps cars about uphill from stop sign (at Nicholas Ln) to keep cars from entering Miller School Rd. This will require radio communication between intersection and course marshal. CAUTION FLAGMAN AHEAD 500 ft from intersection

  9. Corner 2Dick Woods Rd/Taylors Gap Rd Police stops cars west bound on Dick Woods Rd. Keeps cars at stop sign on Dry Bridge Rd from entering intersection. Course marshal stops drivers about 100 ft from intersection to allow racers to take the whole road through the corner. CAUTION FLAGMAN AHEAD 500 ft from intersection

  10. Corner 3Red Hill Rd Race proceeds straight on Taylor’s Gap Rd. Course marshal stops traffic From entering Taylors Gap Rd as race comes through.

  11. Corner 4Taylors Gap/Edge Valley Rd Course marshal stops north-bound traffic from Taylors Gap Rd. Traffic at stop sign from Edge Valley is stopped from proceeding North (going head on into the race) on Taylors Gap

  12. Corner 5Edge Valley/Plank Rd As race approaches: Police stops traffic on Plank Rd to allow racers to enter Plank Rd from Edge Valley Rd.

  13. Corner 6Batesville Police stops cars east bound on Plank Rd Course marshal stops drivers at Burch’s Creek Rd to allow racers to take the whole road through the corner. This will require radio communication between Batesville corner and Burch’s Creek marshal.

Finish of each race • Any escort vehicles get ahead of the race and stop traffic on Miller School Rd southbound at Miller School service entrance until main group of racers finish • Racers will exit course at service entrance to Miller School Rd • All follow vehicles may proceed to Miller School driveway to return to Miller School

  15. “herding” after the finish Police and lead car proceed ahead of race in time to stop oncoming traffic at Miller School Service Rd Motors can assist to direct cyclists to take service road back to school

  16. Rolling Enclosure • Stop oncoming traffic • Backed up by motor refs • Traffic proceeds when racers are past • Safest method for reducing impact of head on collision (racer more likely to survive hitting stopped rather than moving car) • Gives racers some “margin of error”

  17. If one field overtakes another • Overtaking field will communicate • Motor ref in charge of the race will pick spot to pull over • Entire race caravan must pull over and stop while overtaking field passes
