  6. How the course works • Part 1: A sample project • You study deliverables • You work with existing (real) deliverables • Part 2: Your project • You start from the same project • You prepare deliverables

  8. The work part 1: Your IA Guide • Study and document a deliverable on your own • Discuss the deliverable and tour a sample in class • Perform an analysis on the deliverable • Reflect on what you learned and… • Repeat! 25% of your grade

The work part 2: Your Project • We present a project “set-up” that uses the same deliverables you have already studied • Each week • We drill down further into a deliverable • You work through to that deliverable for your project • You present your work, we discuss • At the end of the term, you hand in your project 60% of your grade

  10. Class Activities • Done by teams • You sign up for • 3-4 slots • to guide the class • for 15-20 min • Class discussions • Rewards by bump • Reviews and feedback forms 15% of your grade

  11. Bumps Meritorious behavior Can nominate others for bumps as well Add to your participation score

  12. Class Etiquette • All tech is welcome, but be respectful. If you are distracting the people you will be ejected • No lurking. If you are obviously not paying attention (sleeping for example) we will ask you to move to the back of the room • There is a lot of discussion and group work in this class. If you demean other people you will be ejected from class for the day.
