  4. Who took part? • School Staff • Survey – 826 • Focus Groups – over 100 • Variety of school settings • Teaching Assistants – Heads • Pupils • Survey – 511pupils • Age range 11 to 19 • 21 schools • Independent and mainstream

  5. So what does it look like?

  6. Start with the Basics I went to the head and said ‘I think she’s bulimic’ He looked at me completely blankly. I had to explain what I meant.

  7. Risk Factors & Warning Signs We don’t know what to look for or what’s normal and what’s not… They couldn’t recognise an eating disorder if it slapped them in the face
