Black Ministerial AllianceBoston, Daniell Gantt, Director, Victory Generation After School Programs, (617) 445-2737 • Co-sponsor of Technology and Ministry Workshop • Currently operate after school programs at six sites, with about half of sites having computer labs • TechMission Boston program of AC4 is currently discussing setting up additional labs with BMA, which may include AmeriCorps staff to support in the future

Eugene Neville, 508-543-6850, revnev@attbi.com Latisha Stewart, ljs557@yahoo.com • History: • The Amara Computer Learning Center began by providing technology training to children ages 5½ -17 years old through its after-school program. • Has offered computer classes in Introduction to Computers, Office Applications, CD Production, Graphics and Animation, and Creative Writing and Journals. • The center has trained individuals from such organizations as the Brockton Housing Authority, the YMCA, and the Boys and Girls Club. In 1999, the center had served over 1,400 individuals.

Mount Moriah Baptist Church • History (cont’d): • Summer campers and their parents in 1999 received a free Pentium computer upon completion of camp or for parents, a six-week training, to continue practicing the skills they learned. • Equipping churches across the country with video conferencing technology through donation from PictureTel • Stats: • Computers donated through various private organizations. Funds are also generated through registration fees and through small grants.

Higher Education Resource Center (HERC) Roxbury David Marcillo, 522-9040, dmarcillo@abrecorp.com Sam Acevedo, 442-5608, judaherc@earthlink.net • Current Uses of Computers: • Adult computer literacy classes two nights a week for parents and grandparents of students pursuing a higher education at HERC • Starting a computer mentoring program during the summer • In collaboration with Roxbury Presbyterian Church, Cambridge Community Fellowship Church (CCFC) and the Cambridge Vineyard • Hope to teach computer networking skills on the level of Microsoft Certification Software Engineer (MCSE) combined with a Christian discipleship focus • “Train the trainer” sessions for volunteers

Cambridge Vineyard Christian Fellowship Cambridge Katie Peterson, 617-282-0155, katie@bwministries.org • Currently: • PREP is a joint program of Dorchester Temple Baptist Church, Bruce Wall Ministries and the Cambridge Vineyard Christian Fellowship. • Announcements and reports about PREP to the entire church each semester; Cambridge Vineyard also provides some of the funding. • 50 people have volunteered at PREP over the last year and a half.
