  11. ,,Candle demonstration“was held at Hviezdoslav square on 25th March1988 • It was organised by: Ján Čarnogurský, Vladimír Jukl, František Mikloško • It was the first public expression of resistance • There were more than 2000 people • The crowd of people was praying in peace, in spite of that the police attacked the people, plenty of them were arrested • The whole world was informed by BBC, The voice of America and other TV channels all over the world

  15. That is the history of Slovakia and an example of how to fight against violence without using it and eventually reach what we were fighting for. There can be many obstacles but we have to be stubborn and go on till we reach our goals.
