  4. One solution… • The Information Environment Service Registry is designed to: • help these machine-to-machine services advertise themselves on the network • Make it easier for application developers to find appropriate services for their users Internet Librarian International

Metadata • Collection descriptions: based on RSLP collection description schema • Service descriptions: depend on type of service • Agent descriptions: information about organisation • All metadata decisions have been informed by and have fed into international developments in Dublin Core and NISO Metasearch Initiative. • IESR metadata now being used in USA and Australia for related projects Internet Librarian International

  16. Benefits of inclusion for service providers • Wider awareness of resources and associated services • Resources can be re-used and re-presented in a variety of contexts and environments, many of which we haven't even thought of yet Internet Librarian International
