  1. Adventure, mystery The 39 CluesThe Sword Thief The four different Cahill Branches By Peter Lerangis Presentation by Nathaniel Beardsley

  2. Introduction • In “The Sword Thief” by Peter Lerangis, there is an all powerful family called the Cahills, who consist of four separate branches, the Lucian, the Ekaterina, the Janus and the Tomas. These four braches are constantly competing for the 39 clues, ingredients hidden around the globe which will unveil a secret of ultimate power. In this PowerPoint, I will explaining some of the different aspects of these four branches.

  3. Summary • “The Sword Thief” takes place in Japan and Korea, where the two main characters, Amy and Dan Cahill, are on the hunt for a clue hidden by their Japanese ancestor. They are forced to team up temporarily with their enemies, Ian and Natalie Kabra, in order to find the clue. They also have to trust their enemy Alistair Oh, who has betrayed them in the past. In the end, in an old cave in Korea, they find the clue and are double crossed by the Kabras, whom Amy was beginning to trust, and abandoned. Eventually they escaped, but Alistair abandoned them and took the clue for himself.

  4. Janus • The Janus branch of the Cahill family are the most artistic ones. Pretty much, all the great artists of the past, Rembrandt, Picasso, Van Gough, they were all Januses. Also, tons of famous authors, musicians, and sculptors were Janus as well. However, most of the time the Janus use their creativity in the wrong way, to overcome the other branches and to win the clues for themselves.

  5. Tomas • The Tomas are the powerful, tough branch. They have a great desire for conquering everything and for getting strong to the point where they can easily toss around ridiculously heavy objects, including people. However, many times they aren’t clever, and that oftentimes cancels out their strength. The Holt family, another enemy of Amy and Dan, are a good example of this, though much of the Tomas branch doesn’t like them anyway.

  6. Ekaterina • The Ekaterina branch, or just Ekats, are the most scientific and developing of the branches. They are the ones who invent all the great inventions and improve the world, sometimes. However, other times they use their scientific inquiry fro evil, creating weapons of mass destruction and machines and tactics that can cause genocides. Alistair is an Ekat.

  7. Lucian • Of all the branches, the Lucians are arguably the most powerful. They are the cleverest and the slyest and the richest. Ian and Natalie Kabra are both Lucians, and they are untrustworthy as snakes. The Lucian branch can sort of take the skills of all the other branches and create a branch that stands out above all of the rest.

  8. madrigals • Nobody really knows who the madrigals are. But they have an aura of menace around them that makes no one want to know.
