  3. Science – what's missing ? • Very focused on memorizing definitions, formulae & text-book assignments • No link to everyday things either at home or in nature • Labs are all stuck with experiments that are 40+ years old !

  4. Why do we need this ? LINK to EVERYDAY LIFE • No link between what is studied at school and what the child experiences at home / outside of school LABS ARE OUTDATED • Labs are stuck in an anachronistic time bind. Nothing has changed in them for the last 40 years ROTE learning needs change • Current education model (across syllabus) encourages “rote” as definitions seem more important than understanding or application Hands-On = Minds-On • Learning outcomes, retention and better applications view when children can touch & feel (DIY model)
