Purpose of the Program • To provide a pool of individuals qualified to become school district business managers. • To provide improved knowledge/skills for individuals already in school business. • To interest individuals to enter the school business profession.
Level I ProgramAspiring to Become a Business Manager • Content Nine Sessions - 9 days (72 clock hours) 1 School Business Management Overview 3 Budget & Finance 1 Accounting 1 Purchasing 1 Transportation/Maintenance/Facilities 1 Personnel (Supervision & Evaluation) 1 School Business Management Summary
Cost of the Program • $1000 - $1500 per 8 hour session depending on location • Example: Based on 25 participants, cost would be $40-60/person/session
Level II ProgramCurrent Business Managers • Content 13 Sessions - 13 days (104 clock hours) 4 Advanced Budget & Finance 4 Advanced Maintenance/Transportation 4 Advanced Purchasing 1 School Business Management 13 Sessions
Level III ProgramAttracting New People to the Profession • Content of program under development. Will be very introductory, with emphasis on career exploration.

Other Features • Level I is now underway, and Level II will be available for implementation in the fall of 2010. • The program will be rigorous and require commitment on the part of the student. • Certification of Accomplishment will be issued at end of program. • Could lead to possible AASBO state certification as school business official.
