  2. Did you Know… • The state of Georgia requires that all students in grades 1 – 8 take the CRCT in the following areas: Reading, Language Arts and Math. • All students in grades 3 – 8 must also take the CRCT in Science and Social Studies.

  3. Did you Know… • There is a website that your child can log on to practice for the CRCT. He/she can practice at home or at the local public library. • You can also print study guides from the Georgia DOE website.

  6. Before the Test • Prepare emotionally for the test • Eat a healthy nutritious breakfast • Get a good night’s sleep • Help your student relax. • Keep a normal routine

  7. Test Tips • Listen to and read directions carefully • Listen to and read test items carefully • Set a pace that will allow time to complete the test • Bypass difficult items and return to them later

  8. Test Tips • Make educated guesses rather than omitting items • Eliminate as many alternatives as possible before guessing • Remember, it is not how many a student completes but how many are correct

  9. More Test Tips • Check the question number to be sure that the question number & answer number match when marking an answer • Check to be sure that the appropriate response was marked on the answer sheet • If time permits, go back and answer the questions skipped and check all answers
