  3. COURSE DESCRIPTION • Properties of real numbers • Writing and solving linear equations • Graphing linear equations • Solving equations and inequalities • Functions

  4. GRADES • Grades are not given but earned. Your grade will be an evaluation of homework, classwork, quizzes and tests, and class participation. Grades will be computed strictly by points. • Sapphire Grading

  5. HOMEWORK • Although most course work is done in class, students will be responsible for turning in their homework when required. If the homework is incomplete, the student will earn zero points. This collected assignment will be graded for effort, completion, and accuracy. More importantly, ALL WORK MUST BE SHOWN!

  6. MATERIALS • Students are provided with a 3-ring binder that includes a calculator and pencil. This binder will hold all important information and worksheets that will be distributed throughout the semester. This binder should be kept neat and organized. If you lose any of these materials, you must replace them. This binder and it’s specified materials must be kept in class. Please purchase a folder for homework and other papers that are brought home.

  7. MAKE-UP WORK • Every student is responsible for making up his or her homework from absence(s). Each student has the same number of days to make up their work as the number of days they were absent. Chapter tests and quizzes must be made up before the next chapter test. Students who fail to make up his or her work in the time allotted will obtain a zero in the grade book for that assignment. • MISSING ASSIGNMENTS

  8. HELP! • If, at any time, you are struggling with the material and would like some extra help please do not hesitate to ask. I am in my room most mornings before school (7-7:35) and can also make advanced arrangements for after school help. Tutoring is also made available at the drop-in center. Outside tutoring by a qualified tutor (if they are available) is also an option. Mr. Sahd (Math Dept. Supervisor) has a list of qualified tutors and their phone numbers. • REVIEW SESSIONS
