  1. Cleaning Guide: How to Clean Cast Iron Radiator

  2. Cast iron radiators are still among the most widely used types of heating devices for homes. After all, their exceptional heat retention capacity keeps a room warm for a much longer duration than most any other heater. Additionally, cleaning an iron radiator isn’t much of rocket science if you have even the most basic understanding or the know-how. I’ll be providing a step-by-step guide to the easiest and most effective way of sprucing up your cast iron radiator so that it provides you clean, fresh and warm air, all day, every day. Step 1: Vacuum Cleaning Try to squeeze out as much dry dirt as possible by using a domestic vacuum cleaner. The less liquid you use for your radiator cleaning, the better you’re going to be in the long run. Step 2: Cleaning The Inside For a deep inner cleaning of the columns, wrap a dry cloth around non-metallic cutlery and secure it with a tape. Now, insert the cloth on the stick through the top of the radiator and push it to the bottom to clear out the dirt and dust within the columns. Remember to lay a dusting sheet under the radiator to collect the dirt coming down/out. Step 3: Wet Cleaning About 80% of the radiator cleaning work has already been finished up until step 2, to go even further, you’ll need some help from water and detergent. Dampen a clean and soft cloth with a solution of warm water and detergent, and use it to clean the exteriors of the radiator. Twist the cloth into a point to access crevices and hard-to-reach spots. Wash it again with warm water later on. Step 4: Final Touch After going from step 1 to step 3, all that’s left to do is wiping down the radiator with a dry and clean cloth for the final touch. Remember to ensure that there’s no moisture left before you turn it back on again. And voila! Your radiator is perfectly clean and ready to keep you warm!
