  5. 15 different departments • Assist in carrying out laws & running government programs President’s Cabinet

  6. NOT under direct control of the President • DO NOT ENFORCE laws • Make policy (rules) • NASA-National Aeronautics & Space Administration • EPA-Environmental Protection Agency Executive Agencies

  7. Makes & carries out (enforces) governmental rules • Each member serves a prescribed term • Free from political influences • FCC-Federal Communications Commission • CPSC-Consumer Product Safety Commission Regulatory Commissions

  8. Government businesses run for profit • Amtrak, US Postal Service, Tennessee Valley Authority, Federal Loan Banks, Freddie Mac Government Corporations
