Course Objectives: • To provide an overview of the requirements, process, and procedures for conducting economic analysis of Corps of Engineers water resources planning projects. • To list key elements of economic analysis for all of the Corps water resource purposes such as flood risk management, navigation, ecosystem restoration, recreation, water supply, etc.

  6. What does the economist do? • What are benefits and costs based on? • How do we evaluate different project purposes? • What are the key inputs and outputs to economic analysis? • Where to go for help and guidance?

  7. Exercises, case studies, and discussions • Presentations by senior economists and Panel of Experts on Friday • Course notebook and CD • Student questionnaire to aid in improving future classes
