Adjacent to City of Vancouver within the Vancouver Lake Lowlands Primary management emphasis: Wintering Waterfowl Habitat: Canada Geese High Quality Herbaceous Wetlands Agriculture/Grazing at reduced levels Reestablish Native habitats: Riparian Forested Wetland Oak

  14. PLANNED MAJOR ENHANCEMENTS Acquire remaining private lands within Shillapoo Lake (400 acres) Reestablish Native Wetland Plant Communities. Water Level Management Moist Soil Management Practices Reestablish Riparian and Oak Forest Enhanced Level weed control Upland Goose Forage Management Pasture Management Cover Crops

Shillapoo Lake Concept Goal: Establish High Quality Herbaceous Native Wetland Plant Community Current Proposal: Split into several independently managed units Establish gravity-fed hydraulic connection Rock filter or screens to exclude carp and warm water species to meet plant community objectives. Also excludes Salmonids

  16. Would salmonids benefit from an open connection to Shillapoo Lake? Entrapment? Predation? Hydrology? Juvenile feeding/rearing habitat quality? Access? Temperature? Re-evaluation
