Pathways in Technology Early College High School • A new model for high school learning • You start in 9th or 10th grade • 4 to 6 year program • Prepares you for the work place • Helps you make connections & get references • You attend north country community college starting in your junior year of high school

  3. What do our industry partners do? • Set students up with career coaches • Host events & field trips • Hold mock interview, resume, and job skill sessions • Teach students the skills they are looking for in new hires

What is the Northern Borders Academy like? • Learn from industry professionals in Criminal Justice & Health Care Fields • Monthly workplace learning; career and workforce exposure; and workforce readiness outings and activities • You will be paired up with a Career Coach and be offered job shadowing opportunities as early as your sophomore year • Project-based, hands-on learning, Chromebook, VR Holo-lens Technology and 3-D Printing • Real world experience • You take the lead in your learning, choosing a career pathway, and taking college-level, credit bearing courses!

  12. How do you apply for PTECH? Student must complete and submit: • An application (available in your Guidance office) • Essay • Parent recommendation form • School counselor recommendation form • Teacher recommendation form 30 slots open for 2019-2020! Check with yourGuidance Counselor about applicationdeadlines!

  13. What degrees can I obtain through the northern borders academy? North Country Community college’s approved associate degree programs • Health Sciences • Human services • Chemical Dependency Counseling • Criminal Justice (Effective 2019-2020)

  14. What options do I have as I move through the program? • Graduate high school and choose a different college to attend on my own • Graduate High school and take a civil service exam/complete interviews to begin work • Graduate high school and continue on for my free associate’s degree • Graduate high school, get an associates degree, and continue towards a four year bachelors degree
