  2. OBJECTIVE Conservation of the Tiger Habitat of Ghatmatha, Talkokan & Kokan

  3. SAHYADRI IS NEWEST TIGER RESERVE Sahyadri Tiger Reserve will include 317.67 sq km of Chandoli National Park and 423.55sq km of Koyna Wildlife Sanctuary. The Chandoli National Park was formed in 2004 while Koyna Wildlife Sanctuary was formed in 1985. The Central Government has also announced Rs. 10 lakh resettlement package for each family living in the 15 villages near the two sanctuaries. According to the 2010 census, the Sahyadri Tiger Reserve is estimated to have 16 tigers and 66 leopards.

PLAN OF ACTION • Hundreds of Gallant Volunteers will ride on motor bikes through the same land in which Shivaji, Prataprao Gujar and their brave followers rode & are remembered by folk lores. • Mumbai to Karad via Talkokan • Over 500 km journey, will take them through many cities, towns & villages.

Report on HERO DECCAN ADVENTURE 2011 & KOKAN ADVENTURE 2010 • Last Two Years’ adventure was Extensively Popular with an Admirable Success. • The Deccan Adventure began from Sanjay Gandhi National Park & ended in Residency Club, Kolhapur (Nov.1 –Nov. 5, 2011) while The Kokan Adventure route was Hanging garden, Mumbai to Dona Paula, Goa (Nov. 8 – Nov. 13, 2010),

Report on HERO DECCAN ADVENTURE 2011 & KOKAN ADVENTURE 2010 • Participation across all sections of society. • The entire adventure tours were extensively covered by Media partners like National and international news channels and newspapers. • Pamphlets, Badges, Caps & T-shirts were distributed to participants and supporters. • The Adventures were carefully governed to ensure safety with an Ambulance.
