Members propose Rules Changes • NHLA Rules Committee accepts testimonies and decides which will be presented to members • Open Forum during NHLA Convention • Mail ballot – 2/3 plurality to pass
Proposed Alder Rules Apply to Green, Dry, Rough or Surfaced Lumber
Superiors Select or Better – Standard except minimum cutting 4” x 3’ or 3” x 6’ Small Knots 1/4” less, some centers less than 1/8” diameter admitted
Cabinet Grade No. 1 Common standard except Width: 4” minimum Length: 6’ minimum Small knots less than 1/4” admitted
Custom Shop Grade Same as Cabinet Grade except grade from better side with reverse side defined as sound
Com-Shop 2A Common: Standard except Width: 4” minimum Length: 6’ minimum Grade from better side, reverse side defined as sound
Frame Grade Width: 4” minimum Length: 6’ minimum Yield: 2/3 structurally sound yield from poorer side Wane: Shall not exceed ¼ to ½ of length. Allowed on both sides Limited stain, checks, shake, pith, worm holes
No. 3/Econo Frame Grade No. 3A Common: Standard except Width: Minimum 4” Length: Minimum 6’ Structurally sound, defects admitted if they do not impair strength of cuttings.
