  4. The birds oriented to the fake sky! Birds were placed in a dome like theatre with stars projected on the ceiling Further experiments show that they only orientated towards the brightest northern stars because they move the least during the night

  5. CHEMICAL NAVIGATION Dogs follow scents to find home and ants leave chemical trails for other ants to follow.

  6. Crazy Fact!!!! If you block a salmons nose they can miss crucial turns in rivers because they can’t detect the chemicals for the correct path!

  7. SOUND USED AS SONAR Bats navigate by using high pitched squeaks which bounce off objects in their path Humpback whales orientate themselves by sonar. They have excellent hearing and a big range of clicks and booms

  8. Infrasound Humans can’t hear a frequency of less than 1Hz but it has been shown that pigeons can hear less than 0.06Hz. Infrasound travels very long distances so the pigeons use the natural sources of infrasound like crashing waves, as a mean of navigation.
