  24. If you are new to completing tenders there are many resources available on-line and many organisations that are willing to sell their services to support you in completing tenders. You may also consider collaborating with other organisations and offer your services as a part of the full service. This could be through a sub-contracting relationship where a lead provider manages the contract and sub-contract you to provide part of the required service. You may also consider a consortium arrangement where business partners join together to offer a full service. They can be or real benefit where a public contract requires different areas of expertise. They also allow suppliers to compete where they may otherwise not have the scale, equipment, geographic reach or expertise to take the contract on individually. Contract Opportunities

Short Breaks Service • Short breaks for disabled children and young people aged 5 -18: • Provides an opportunity for time away from their primary care givers • Also provides respite for parents/carers. Target Groups: • Children on the Autistic Spectrum. • Children and young people with complex health needs; • Children with moving and handling needs; young people 14+ • Children with challenging behaviours associated with other impairments

  29. Short Breaks Cont Scope of The Service • Countywide. • Individual Support – Sitting/befriending, accessing activities in the community, support with care routines including occasional overnights. • Holiday, play and community activities – Group activities

Alternative Education • Used by Nottinghamshire to provide part-time education for pupils with or without EHC Plans for whom full-time provision is not currently appropriate/available. • Provision can provide education : • Pending a full-time placement (e.g. new in county) • Individually designed to address the needs of the individual (e.g. anxious learners) • As part of a package (e.g. part-time academic and part-time social/vocational package)

Alternative Education Service Gaps • Rural areas of Nottinghamshire, particularly Bassetlaw and South Rushcliffe • Vocational courses needed particularly in the North of the County • Alternative Providers who are able to deliver academic qualifications (particularly IT and Science), together with exam provision.
