  1. We will begin by making the sign of the Cross Leader: In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. All: Amen We pause to think of any special intention we want to pray for today. We light our Form Candle for all our prayers today.

  2. Third week of Easter BACKGROUND: The Gospel this weekend from John (21:1-19) has Jesus appear to the disciples by the Sea of Tiberias (the Roman name for Galilee). They do not recognise him as they are busy fishing but have not caught any fish. When Jesus tells them to drop their nets over the side they pull in the a catch of 153 fish! John is the first to recognise Jesus and Peter jumps into the sea to come to him! When they have eaten the fish Jesus asks Peter three questions “Do you love me?” (Remember Peter denied Jesus three times!) Each time that Peter replies that yes he loves him, Jesus commands Jesus to “Feed my sheep.” Peter once more is given the task to lead his people. We pray for our own Peter - Pope Francis & our Bishop Malcolm

  3. Monday 15th April Reader: “They said to him; “What must we do if we are to do the works that God wants? Jesus gave them the answer, “This is working for God; you must believe in the one he has sent.” (Gospel of John 6:29) Together let us pray: Lord Jesus, we ask for the life and power of your Spirit in our school, so that all our community may treat others generously, with respect and care and grow in understanding of each other. Amen

  4. Tuesday 16th April Reader: Jesus said “I am the bread of life. They who come to me will never be hungry; they who believe in me will never thirst.” (Gospel of John 6:35) Together we pray: Father, we thank you for our school community, knowing that we can learn from each other and grow in faith. We pray for all involved in our school, that all of us may grow as the people you call us to be. Amen

  5. Wednesday 17th April Reader: Jesus said: “When the Spirit of truth comes he will lead you to the complete truth” (Gospel of John 16:14) Let us pray together: Loving Father, on our journey through life, lead us to choose the right direction and show us how to respect and value others, even if we do not agree with them. Amen

  6. Thursday 18th April Reader: Jesus said: “It is written in the prophets; they will all be taught by God, and to hear the teaching of the Father, and learn from it, is to come to me.” (Gospel of John 6:45) Together we pray: We pray and commit ourselves today, Father, to learn more about each other and the beautiful world that you have created around us. Help all of our classes today to be places of learning and discovery. Amen

  7. Friday 19th April Reader: “Love must be completely sincere. Hate what is evil, hold on to what is good.” (St Paul’s Letter to the Romans 12:9) Let us pray together: Lord, help us to do what we can to ensure that all people are able to live their lives to the fullest and not be held back by poverty, war or disease. Lord Jesus may we bring your love to those in need. Amen

  8. School Prayer Prayer of Saint Benedict We pray Lord, that everything we do may be prompted by your inspiration, so that every prayer and work of ours may begin from you, and be brought by you to completion. Amen Saint Benedict – Pray for us
