  1. Cherokee, N.C.2019 Mission Trip-----Mission Team Members: Joan Atkins, Donna Bard, Linda Beste, Michele Boland, Kathie Harles, Sally Lause, Cindy Longsdon, Lori Nowak, Mary Beth Rettke, Dawn Sickendick, Ruth Smith, and Lori Voss Coordinated through: The Center for Short Term Missions

  2. The twelve-woman Mission Team came from three different religious denominations. Their common goal was to share God’s message and serve others as Christian Ladies Loving the Lord!

  3. The group enjoyed a short break to take in the area’s natural beauty near theend of their 10+ hour drive to Cherokee.

  4. Beginning our Mission withDaily Worship - “Know Fear”

  5. The City of Cherokee, N.C. Steeped in Indian History and… A great place for an Ice Creambreak!

  6. Additional City Views

  7. First Church Presentation“Forgiveness” with Audience Interaction Puppet and Music Ministries were very popular, especially with the area children.

  8. Nursing Home Activities included Haircuts…

  9. Manicures…

  10. Crafts, Puzzles and Face Painting…

  11. Puppet Show and Individual Visits inside …

  12. And outside visits with Memory Unit residents…

  13. Weeding, Lunch, then Movies with the residents

  14. Cleaning lawns and homes on the Reservation

  15. Second Church Presentation on “Prayer” and group Sing-along

  16. Clothing Pantry – ReorganizationAll donations were inspected for quality and cleanliness,then separated by size, gender, and season. Items were then hung or folded and placed in their specified areas. Additional items were stored in boxes, marked with gender and sizes, for future use. This clothing pantry/closet is available to all on the reservation at no cost.

  18. Rearranging our sleeping areas at the Nazarene Church, as we prepare to head back home with many mixed emotions. The Lord will bless you and will keep you safe upon your way. The Lord will shine his face on you and give you peace today!

  19. We would like to thank all those who kept us and our Mission in their prayers, our families who carried on without us for a week, and the Good Lord who gave us the means, faith, and stamina to serve others in this way. This group plans to continue service work locally and hopes to put together another trip for next year.
