Easy report authoring Integration with SSRS We have a set of dashboards that are installable today, but PowerBI is expandable and you can create new dashboards with simple SQL queries PowerBI Premium and SQL Enterprise edition allow you to have an on premise report server and still upload your datasets to the cloud Streaming data Share with your VPs See data in real time. Example: Admissions numbers, registration numbers in real time Create powerful dashboards and share them on your mobile devices with other people at your institution. They can also get an emailed report

  4. DATASOURCES Datasources PowerBI has a wide range of datasources that you can connect to. From the simplest flat file to connections to MailChimp, Google Analytics, and Salesforce – it’s possible to analyze the data from a wide range of sources.

  5. Data warehouse? Data warehouses are powerful and 3D can definitely assist you in setting up a data warehouse for your institution. The reality is, if you don’t have a data warehouse today then it will take some time to gather the data you need to have meaningful reports on your historical data. If you are interested in this option it’s obviously to get it set up as soon possible.

  6. ONLINE OR ON PREM? PowerBI also offers an on premise report server where you can have your existing SSRS reports in with your PowerBI reports and dashboards This license is an extra fee from Microsoft, but is available to institutions with SQL Enterprise. 2018

  7. DATA UPLOAD CAMS Data to Power BI PowerBI Desktop allows you to easily write queries in SQL to upload data to PowerBI and create visualizations. Once you are set in your queries, 3D Technologies can help you set up a scheduled upload of data using the PowerBI data gateway. There are other options to upload CAMS data, but this is generally the option with the best performance.
