Benefits • $1.28 Million to 8 PTVs in FY 09 • Builds/extends on extensive partnerships for future work; new constituencies/relevance • Taps PTV expertise in developing web accessible digital media aligned with PD, curriculum; new uses for existing locally-owned PTV content • Renewed & refined educational mission for both PTV & SDE

Multi-faceted Training • Online Instructor Training • Educators from each state prepared to teach online in intensive graduate level online program • Participants recruited from PTV, DoE, Districts • Online Developer Training • Educators from each state prepared to develop online in intensive graduate level online program • Development teams include PTV/State/District partners • Online Leadership Development • State leadership teams engage in week-long retreat for training and planning each year

  11. Implementation of the eFE Initiative Across all 8 states: • 1536 workshops delivered • Over 90 workshop titles offered • 21,628 participants completed workshops • 12,780 participants completed both pre and post evaluation surveys

Participant Satisfaction:Comparisons with other OPD Programs Likelihood of taking another OPD course • eFE satisfaction data largely comparable to other OPD programs • Eleven comparisons yielded no differences • Two differences favoring eFE (right) • One difference favoring another OPD program (right) The website was user-friendly Addressed areas of curricular/pedagogical need

Specific Sustainability Strategies Partnerships with public television stations help to: • Provide video content for courses • Market the eFE program within individual states (planning, create spots) • Recruit teacher participants (strategies) • Recommend people for training (facilitators, course developers)
