Why are we here tonight? • It’s about going to good colleges • It involves a lot of hard work • This is a team effort! • Students and Parents are the Team • Teachers & other water-carriers • Students “Reach High” – Get into a good college – • Parents support and encourage students • Research and visit colleges with them • Prepare financial aid documents and /or write big checks

Why are we here tonight?(Cont.) • The road for everyone leads in the same direction: • The 80 best colleges in the Handout Booklet • Endowment drives quality and financial aid • If financial aid needed, get attractive package and reduce strain on Parents • If aid not needed, Parents get a better education for their considerable investment • The Team wins!

Why Attend a Highly Competitive College? • Greater intellectual stimulation from professors who are leaders in their field • An energized group of fellow students, many of whom will become future leaders • Availability of more academic facilities (classrooms, libraries, labs, etc.) • More small, seminar-type classes • Better job opportunities after graduation • Better chance of acceptance in top graduate schools (business, law, medicine) • Better long-term support system among alumni and faculty • More attractive financial aid opportunities
