This term, your tutor group is invited to participate in a thrilling story competition! You'll craft a story set anywhere and anytime, featuring characters of your choice. Each week, contribute just one paragraph that incorporates the three “words of the week” to enhance your vocabulary and creativity. Whether you write as a class, in small groups, or individually, every group member must contribute. Compete for the top spot in your tutor group, year group, and ultimately, the academy. Story Challenge! Your tutor group are challenged to submit a story into the story competition for this term.
The challenge… Across the term you will write a story. Your story can be set anywhere, at any time and have whatever characters you see fit. Each week you will need to write only one paragraph or chapter to add to your story. Here’s where it gets difficult… You must use the 3 words of the week in that paragraph! Each paragraph must make sense, following the storyline.

Words of the Week Each week there are 3 “words of the week”, you will see them displayed on the screens around the academy, also your tutor will show them to you. These words will help to develop your vocabulary – some are difficult words – see if you can learn and use them!
Your choice… You have the choice in your tutor group how you want to write your story. You could: • Write it as a whole class; • Write one individually and select the best to put into the year competition; • Write one in small groups and select the best to put into the year competition. However you choose to write your story every member in the tutor group must have made a contribution to one of the stories.
