  2. Definition • tundra is a biome where the tree growth is hindered by low temperatures and short growing seasons • It’s the coldest of of all biomes

  3. Location • The tundra is located at the top of the world, near the North Pole. • Alaska, Northern Canada, edges of Greenland, Northern Scandinavia, northern Siberia, and Russia.

  4. Temperature • Winter temperature doesn’t reach above 20 degrees and in the summer it doesn’t get above 37 degrees.

  5. Rainfall/Snowfall • Usually less the 15 inches a year between snow and rain.

  6. Vegatation • Artic moss • Arctic Willow • Bearberry • Caribou Moss • Diamond-leaf Willow • Labrador Tea • Pasque Flower • Tufted Saxifrage

  7. Aniamls • Arctic Fox • Caribou • Ermine • Grizzly Bear • Harlequin Duck • Musk Ox • Polar Bear • Snowy Owl

  8. Unique • It can even snow at some parts of summer in the tundra. • Worlds youngest biome • Has no trees
