  9. 7th Grade Science • Earth’s Geological Processes: Properties of Earth’s composition, processes that contribute to Earth’s structure • Earth’s Geological Components: Classifying rocks and minerals, distinguishing rock types, the rock cycle

  10. 7th Grade Science • Earth in the Solar System: Moon phases, eclipses, tides, seasons, constellations, relationship of relative objects in space • Populations and Ecosystems: Food webs, relationships of organisms within an ecosystem, population growth, predicting environmental factors • Mixed in throughout the curriculum: -Inquiry (designing and conducting investigations, formulating hypotheses, properly testing hypotheses) -History and Nature of Science (analyzing major milestones in science, impact of technology, applying scientific processes to problem-solving)
