Community gardening project Lawrence Weston • Joint funded by Ambition Lawrence Weston and Bristol Public Health • Aims to: • improve local green space • involve local residents in its development and upkeep • provide meaningful activity and opportunities to socialise for older people • enable residents to grow and eat their own fruit and vegetables.
The story so far… • Ran 19 group sessions, with a total of 140 attendances by local residents • Engaged older people and people with dementia in meaningful gardening activities • Held 2 volunteer days • Facilitated 36 hours of volunteer support to residents during sessions
